The black Shure AD2/N8SB is a digital handheld wireless microphone transmitter compatible with Axient Digital series receivers. The AD2/N8SB comes equipped with a Nexadyne 8/S dynamic supercardioid capsule, featuring an innovative Revonic dual-transducer design that uses two separate, but interdependent sets of diaphragms, voice coils, and magnets. This unique technology gives this dynamic mic a condenser-like clarity with a crisp, yet natural high-end and plenty of detail—allowing vocalists to worry less about mic technique and instead focus on delivering powerful performances. The supercardioid polar pattern delivers tight directionality, high gain before feedback, and enhanced rejection of off-axis sound.
The transmitter operates in an ultrawide 140 MHz UHF bandwidth with selectable 2/10/35mW RF output power and a transmission range up to 330'. It provides up to 8 hours of operation on two AA batteries and up to 9 hours with an SB900A lithium-ion rechargeable battery (available separately). With a durable, moisture-resistant, lightweight aluminum case, the AD2/N8SB transmitter delivers pristine audio quality and RF performance, AES 256-bit encryption for secure transmission, and advanced rechargeability options, making it ideal for high-profile, sound-reinforcement applications.
Interchangeable Design with Nexadyne 8/S Supercardioid Revonic Capsule
- Shure's Nexadyne Revonic system is an innovative dynamic microphone design that uses two matched dynamic transducers, working in conjunction, to provide more opportunity for both greater sound quality and the rejection of unwanted signal.
- Wiring the transducers out-of-phase cancels mechanical vibration, so self-noise is actively zeroed out. This makes traditional pneumatic shockmounts unnecessary, and allows the transducers to be optimized for acoustic performance.
- Vocal performers will experience natural and vivid clarity when performing—enabled by a cartridge design that optimizes signal output acoustically, producing more of the desired sound source and less environmental and handling noise.
- Engineers will receive stronger and clearer output, resulting in fewer EQ corrections that are often necessary with other mics to retain vocal clarity within the mix.
- The supercardioid polar pattern provides tightly focused audio capture centered on the performer in front of the mic, reducing bleed from other sources for a clearer sound with substantially less feedback issues from on-stage monitors.
- The interchangeable capsule design allows you to replace the Nexadyne 8/S capsule with a Shure capsule that’s ideal for your application and simply screw it onto the transmitter—including the Nexadyne 8/C (cardioid), KSM8, SM58, Beta 58A, Beta 87A, and Beta 87C capsules.

- 2/10/35mW selectable RF output power allows you to increase either the transmitter's range or the number of mics operating simultaneously.
- Two transmission modes: Standard, for optimal coverage and High-Density, for maximum system channel count and robust coverage.
