M-Audio BX8 Graphite 8" 150W Active Studio Monitor

Designed to provide audio engineers, musicians, and music producers with quality monitoring for studio work, the M-Audio BX8 Graphite is a 2-way speaker engineered to offer accurate sound and easy configuration for producers, podcast creators, mixing engineers, and others who require a critical ear.

A built-in amplifier powers the 8” carbon-fiber woofer and 1.25” silk-dome tweeter. The BX8 Graphite features a rear-mounted bass port that delivers extended bass response, while the tweeter’s redesigned computer-engineered waveguide yields a wide sweet spot and minimized high-frequency scatter. A rear-panel volume control is provided along with high- and low-frequency adjustment switches that allow you to tailor the response to suit the acoustic properties of your listening environment. The versatile monitor sports XLR, 1/4", and RCA input options.

Redesigned 8" Carbon-Fiber Driver

A monitor's drivers are the heart and soul of its performance. Driving the low end and midrange, the BX8 Graphite's new 8-inch carbon fiber woofer is rigid and lightweight, delivering outstanding transient response while negating unwanted cone breakup. The BX8 Graphite's treated silk-dome tweeter provides the perfect combination of low mass and the absence of audible resonances that plague conventional tweeters. Together, the BX Graphite drivers deliver critical detail, nuance, and dynamic accuracy, so your mixes have the veracity and transparency you demand.

150W Class AB Bi-Amped Design

Driving the BX8 Graphite are two Class AB internal amplifiers that power the woofer and tweeter separately (80W LF, 70W HF), each optimized for the specific frequency range it handles and engineered to complement the characteristics of its companion driver. A precision-tuned crossover guarantees each driver only handles the frequencies that it produces most efficiently, for a sound that is cohesive across the entire frequency spectrum.

Precision-Engineered Enclosure

The BX8 Graphite monitor has a rear-mounted bass port, precisely engineered to the exact length and diameter. The result—deep, defined bass response with maximum bass extension and resolution. When combined with a smoothly flared port, the BX8 Graphite monitor markedly reduces the audibly intrusive air turbulence that results when bass is played back at high sound pressure levels (SPLs). BX8 Graphite's tweeter is mounted in a custom computer-optimized waveguide for reliably accurate dispersion that eliminates unwanted high-frequency scatter, while ensuring a soundstage that remains consistently wide and stable.

Adapts to Your Listening Space

The BX8 Graphite custom tailors its sound to your environment, so you will always experience sonically true, reassuringly accurate sound reproduction. The special Acoustic Space control adjusts the bass balance in accordance to the speaker's position relative to major room surfaces such as walls and floor. This control also limits the negative impact of room-related standing waves. The High Frequency control precisely adjusts the treble balance to the acoustic properties of your studio space.
